Would you agree that our President Zuma is an “angel” compared to Julius Malema?

These are crucial times for South Africa despite President Zuma’s corruption cases. Mr Zuma has done his best in developing trade and industries in South Africa whereas Julius Malema may be too inclined with black supremacy to seek the overall economic benefit of South Africa!

Boundaries move slowly but gradually just enough so that society does not realise the ground that they were standing on has moved. The political landscape of South Africa is changing and it’s changing using humour. Many of South Africans don’t mind bad news so long as it comes with humour, as being very much optimistic we South Africans would not admit to the glass being half-empty.

It is with that as a premise to which I would like to mention the person who is keeping our President Zuma up at night that he actually had to build a state of the art bunker at his popular homestead.

We must recognise and be alert that Julius Malema is no Mandela or Zuma! In fact he is an inexperienced, uneducated politician with radical ideology to that synonymous of Robert Mugabe.

jmI strongly believe that the mainstream media will regret providing Malema all the free publicity to fuel his campaigns. May the same media not forget that he was the one verbally abused the British reporter years back, once in power he will remove all freedom of expression. Thus labelling anything opposing to his thinking as “racist”.

These are crucial times for South Africa despite President Zuma’s corruption cases. Mr Zuma has done his best in developing trade and industries in South Africa whereas Julius Malema may be too inclined with black supremacy to seek the overall economic benefit of South Africa!

The possibility of nationwide water-shedding

SA is already using 98% of its available water supply and 40% of our waste-water treatment is in a “critical state”. Moreover, a survey conducted by the department in 2010 indicates that 60% of the country’s water service authorities do not have the right permits for their treatment works.

There are fresh warnings today about the possibility of nationwide water-shedding caused by infrastructure neglect and the natural resources available in South Africa.

Engineering consulting firm Gibb held a roundtable today about the water situation in the country, looking at both the problem and the required solutions.

The firm’s Wiero Vogelzang says, “Water-shedding is a reality that we’re going to have to accept at some stage. The level of it is going to be different in different areas.”

While load-shedding continues, there is an even more worrying prospect ahead: water-shedding. Like the energy crisis, the abysmal state of water in SA is a combination of at least three factors: resource depletion (and contamination), growing demand and inefficient infrastructure.

Rainfall levels are dropping quickly due to climate change. A recent study published by the World Economic Forum says droughts this century will become more recurrent and severe than in the previous millennium. Over the summer holidays, for instance, eThekwini municipality took the unprecedented decision of asking residents and holiday makers to drastically reduce water consumption to avoid systemic cutbacks, given that the Hazelmere Dam had reached dramatically low levels because of prolonged drought.

SA is already using 98% of its available water supply and 40% of our waste-water treatment is in a “critical state”. Moreover, a survey conducted by the department in 2010 indicates that 60% of the country’s water service authorities do not have the right permits for their treatment works. A recent government report suggests the state should spend almost R300bn over the next four years to avoid a full-scale water crisis, which is roughly more than 100 times the budget allocated by the Treasury to water management nationwide.

Have you heard of BRICS?

The group of emerging economies signed the long-anticipated document to create the $100 bn BRICS Development Bank and a reserve currency pool worth over another $100 bn. Both will counter the influence of Western-based lending institutions and the dollar.

bricsThe group of emerging economies signed the long-anticipated document to create the $100 bn BRICS Development Bank and a reserve currency pool worth over another $100 bn. Both will counter the influence of Western-based lending institutions and the dollar.

The new bank will provide money for infrastructure and development projects in BRICS countries, and unlike the IMF or World Bank, each nation has equal say, regardless of GDP size.

Each BRICS member is expected to put an equal share into establishing the startup capital of $50 billion with a goal to reach $100 billion. The BRICS Bank will be headquartered in Shanghai, India will preside as president the first year, and Russia will be the chairman of the representatives.

BRICS represents 42 percent of the world’s population and roughly 20 percent of the world’s economy based on GDP, and 30 percent of the world’s GDP based on PPP, a more accurate reading of the real economy. Total trade between the countries is $6.14 trillion, or nearly 17 percent of the world’s total.

BRIC projections are based on the assumptions that resources are limitless and endlessly available when needed. In reality, many important resources currently necessary to sustain economic growth, such as oil, natural gas, coal, other fossil fuels, and uranium might soon experience a peak in production before enough renewable energy can be developed and commercialised, which might result in slower economic growth than anticipated, thus throwing off the projections and their dates. The economic emergence of the BRICs will have unpredictable consequences for the global environment. Indeed, proponents of a set carrying capacity for the Earth may argue that, given current technology, there is a finite limit to how much the BRICs can develop before exceeding the ability of the global economy to supply.

Academics and experts have suggested that China is in a league of its own compared to the other BRIC countries. As David Rothkopf wrote in Foreign Policy, “Without China, the BRICs are just the BRI, a bland, soft cheese that is primarily known for the whine [sic] that goes with it. China is the muscle of the group and the Chinese know it. They have effective veto power over any BRIC initiatives because without them, who cares really? They are the one with the big reserves. They are the biggest potential market.bricks

When South Africa becomes like Zimbabwe- don’t flee abroad to exploit their welfare system!

So, when South Africa becomes like the wastelands of Zimbabwe and the majority of people don’t have jobs, food or hope, know that it was you the majority who wanted what you got!

Therefore don’t try immigrating to other countries on makeshift boats or lorries, because South Africa – YOU are choosing your own destiny! Your vote matters and you voted for a future and not just the food hamper you were bribed at the polling station.

The majority of South Africa has spoken showing their loyalty once again to the African National Congress as winning seven out of ten wards contested in by-elections around the country. In spite of recent corruption charges – the Nkandla controversy and poor delivery of services to the country, the ANC has legitimately won!

These results can be interpreted as that the South African people:

  1. begdon’t understand what a government should do for them.
  2. still believe that their voting in the 1994 elections.
  3. think that the opposition party is not what the majority of people are looking for?
  4. believe President Zuma and his cabinet are doing a terrific job?
  5. believe there is no corruption or abuse of power?

lawOur legislation is changing on issues of Civil Rights and Security Issues. Authorities are given extra powers and in doing so they are also eroding the civil human rights from the public.

Since the September, 11 and July, 7th attacks – most governments around the world have become rightfully alert and have taken measures to increase their security. However in contrast to these positive measures are that of Laws which erodes our civil rights.

At present authorities in the UK can hold terrorist suspects without charge for 28 days. Some senior police authorities have stated that they would like an indefinite incarceration period. However, many are requesting for a 90 days hold.

lawqAnother such erosion of our civil rights have occurred with the Terrorism Act 2000. When passed it gave the police extra powers when it came to the stop and search process Under section 44 the police can stop and search anyone without the need for reasonable suspicion if they are within a designated area (at the moment the whole of greater London is within the designated area.

There are 4.2 million CCTV camera in the UK. This works out at one camera for every 14 people in Britain. A person in caught on camera 300 times per day on a CCTV camera.

South Africa is for Sale?

Left, right and center – corrupt government officials are raping South Africa whilst we place our hand on heart – singing, Nkosi sikelel’ iAfrika. If the price is right they too could arrange a meeting for you – We need to stop these Pimps in government before it’s too late!!

The South African government which is meant to be safeguarding our country, should have the country’s interest at heart. Yet we read of the daily accounts of government officials abusing the system and of their many indictment corruption charges. Our very government officials have no patriotism or love for our country.

zumThey are no different to the Colonist who ravaged and plundered our country. They speak from the ivory towers mentioning how they fought for liberty and freedom yet many government officials have the philosophy, “eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die”. Total disregard for the next generation and the talks of Ubantu and the Rights and Civil liberties of the African people are all but hogwash.

From the President to the street-sweeper, everyone has a price that they will be willing to sell their integrity and that the sale of South Africa is merely a prostitute commodity to their pension scheme. Our hopeless, uneducated President is now in talks with Russia, China, Cuba and India (not mentioning every other country which has abused its people) – Zuma has opened South Africa’s doors, he has stripped her beauty, tore her lovely dress and exposed her for sale.

Take for example, just yesterday Elisha Matsipa, was arrested for assisting a Pakistani national Wahdat Hussain, to fraudulently obtain a South African passport, identity document and a marriage certificate. Matsipa received an amount of R23, 000 from Hussain.rape

Today’s news will have another account of another story of some other unpatriotic official allowing someone to have a go at raping our country. This has become normal because it happens everyday – but this is NOT normal, its wrong!

Left, right and center – corrupt government officials are raping South Africa whilst we place our hand on heart – singing, Nkosi sikelel’ iAfrika. If the price is right they too could arrange a meeting for you – We need to stop these Pimps in government before it’s too late!!

WARNING: South Africa is becoming Russian’s Nuke Mule

South Africa and Russia have signed a secret nuclear deal to which details that Energy Minister Tina Joemat-Petterson signed with Russia. The details have been guarded even though the people of South Africa have a right to know. The trillion-rand fleet of new nuclear power stations appear to be designed to sidestep the constitutional requirement for open and competitive tendering.

Once the agreement comes into force, the Russians will have a veto over South Africa doing business with any other nuclear vendor. And it will be binding for a minimum of 20 years. The agreement confirms the government’s intention to make “Atomic Tina’s” energy department the procuring agent for the nuclear programme rather than Eskom – where the country’s nuclear expertise lies, despite the utility’s travails.

The terms of the agreement lean heavily in Russia’s favour. They:

  • Indemnify the Russians from any liability arising from nuclear accidents during the reactors’ life. The agreement says South Africa is “solely responsible for any damage both within and outside the territory of the Republic of South Africa”;
  • Hand the Russians a host of regulatory concessions and “special favourable treatment” in tax and other financial matters, but offer South Africa no such incentives; and
  • Require Russia’s permission if South Africa wants to export nuclear technology it develops locally as a result of learning from the Russians, thereby hindering government’s aim that the nuclear new-build programme will develop a globally competitive local nuclear industry.

Why we Love to Laugh?

A joke though so close to reality it is like sugar coated to bitter medicine. The laughter takes away the sting.

There is a common notion that being a comedian means that no one will take you seriously. Most people would see comedy as merely that which makes you laugh. However the reality is that beneath the jokes or funniness – lies the reality of human behaviour and more controversially, race relations. It is indeed funny when our lives are being exposed by the catalyst which holds up a reflection of us, and the need for us to be confronted by the realities that we would choose to deny. The difference however is that the content of the joke though so close to reality it is like sugar coated to bitter medicine. The laughter takes away the sting.
